Terms and Conditions

FOR BOOKINGS, RATES and LODGE ACCESS, THE FOLLOWING DEFINITIONS APPLY.

Private Member – a shareholder, partner and children of that shareholder

Group Member – a Tertiary School shareholder (RMIT) and includes students and staff of RMIT. A current RMIT Student and Staff photo ID will be required to be submitted when making a booking. Please ensure RMIT ID card is carried with you on the mountain for Lodge Manager to check and verify identification when staying at the lodge. Otherwise full non-member rate will be applied.

Member’s FriendsWhen a member makes a booking and is present in the lodge, those accompanying the member, who are not themselves members, are considered to be ‘member’s friends’.

Non-member. – Any person who is not a member and not accompanied by a member, for booking and rates purposes, is considered to be a ‘non-member’.

School Group– Includes all government and all non-government schools who are registered with the government of the day

REQUIREMENTS FOR ALL GUESTS

All guests must provide a bottom sheet & a pillow slip for their bed. Where these are not provided by the guest a $5 charge will be enforced to provide these.

BOOKING/PAYMENT GUIDELINES FOR GROUP MEMBERS (RMIT  CAMPUS)

  • Bookings for RMIT campus members  are to be made through the on line booking system. Please take the time to learn and navigate around the new on line system,  Any queries can be sent via email to: prestonalpinelodge@bigpond.com.
  • Bookings will require immediate payment via credit card to confirm booking.
  • The ratio of one student group member to two friends is set for each booking. All non student/member guests must be charged at either the “members friend rate or full non member rate”
  • All Group Member bookings where appropriate must have current student/staff photo ID Cards supplied at the time of the booking.  Alumni are not eligible for Group Member Bookings.
  • Student / Staff ID card must be provided at time of entry to the lodge to the Lodge Manager for confirmation of booking identity otherwise that person will be charged at the Non Members rate.
  • If the cancellation policy has not been followed then the booking will be on sold and a handling fee of $50 will be charged

Mt Buller Ski Guarantee Policy (Not Applicable to Preston Lodge)
Preston lodge does not guarantee snow conditions, weather or road conditions. Bookings made at Preston lodge are not eligible for the Mt Buller Ski Guarantee Policy. We encourage all people staying at the lodge to take out private holiday / travel insurance to cover unforseen illness or cancellations

BOOKING/PAYMENT GUIDELINES FOR PRIVATE MEMBERS

  • Bookings for private members are to be made through the on line system. Please take the time to learn and navigate around the new on line system,  Any queries can be sent via email to: prestonalpinelodge@bigpond.com.
  • Bookings will require immediate payment via credit card to confirm booking.
  • The maximum No. of beds allocated to a private member for any weekend will be 12 beds (ie. Two rooms) unless by special arrangement.
  • All non member guests must be charged at either the “members friend rate or full non member rate”
  • The members friends rate will only apply to bookings where the member is present at the lodge.
  • If the cancellation policy has not been followed then the booking will be on sold and a handling fee of $50 will be charged

Members (Private and Group) Cancellation and Refund policy.

  • All bookings cancelled must be advised in writing an email to the booking officer / lodge manager. A full refund of any monies paid will be made available when cancellation notice is received 28 days or more in advance of arrival date. If less than 28 days notice is given refunds will only be given if all beds are on-sold less a handling fee of $50 per booking.
  • Members are reminded that they are responsible for the payment of guests and for guest behaviour while at the lodge.

  • All bookings cancelled must be advised by email to the booking officer / lodge manager. BOOKING/PAYMENT/CANCELLATION/REFUND GUIDELINES FOR SCHOOL GROUPS

  • Bookings will only be accepted via email to: prestonalpinelodge@bigpond.com or in writing.
  • For advance bookings to be confirmed a 25% deposit is due by 1st of March unless otherwise agreed by the Booking officer. Booking dates may be on sold if payment is not received by this date.
  • Full payment is due 28 days prior to arrival date otherwise deposit will be forfeited and booking on sold.
  • All bookings cancelled must be advised in writing (e mail, letter, fax) to the booking officer / lodge manager. Cancellation made 28 days or less from arrival date, will result in forfeiture of all monies paid. Refunds will only be given if all beds are on-sold less a handling fee of $50 per booking
  • Cancellation made 60 days or less from arrival date will result in 10% of deposit not being refunded.
  • Cancellation made more than 60 days from arrival date will result in deposit being returned less an administration fee of 5% of the deposit.
  • Payments are to be made via credit card details over the internet/phone or direct via BSB and Account No.
  • Patrons making the booking are reminded that they are responsible for the payment of guests and for their guest behaviour while at the lodge.

CLEANING LEVY 

Guests must be prepared to pay a cleaning levy of $50 if they are sick on the premises from excess alcohol consumption.
